Swimming in February

Yesterday was Tori's last Mom and Me swim class at the YMCA. We had a lot of fun taking this class together. Tori was probably the youngest kid in the class (the class was for kids 18 months to 3 years old) so I think some of the activities were a little hard for her, but she always had fun and she loved going. My favorite part of the class was being able to spend one on one time with Tori each week. I don’t get a lot of one on one time with her so this was really nice.
Ever since Tori started her swim class Landon has been begging me to take him swimming. In the past Landon has not proved to be much of a swimmer, but I decided to sign him up for a class anyway. His first swim class is this coming Saturday and unlike Tori he will be on his own in the pool (meaning it is not a Mom and Me class).I really hope he likes it.

Heat Wave!

Since last weekend we have had record high temperatures in Elkhart. The weather has been beautiful! After dealing with temperatures well below freezing for most of the winter, it was a nice change. As I mentioned in my previous post, I was sick over the weekend and the first part of this week so we weren't really able to enjoy the warm weather. Yesterday I was feeling a lot better and to my delight it was still warm; the problem was it was pouring rain. We did not let this stop us (it was around 60 degrees yesterday so it wasn't cold at all). We had a blast running around, jumping in puddles, and kicking a ball around. Landon and Tori loved being outside and so we stayed out there for a good 45 minutes before we decided it was time to go inside. Today it is cold again but hopefully Spring will be here soon.

It's days like today....

that I really wish we lived near family. I am sick and Jared has school so I am left to care for the kids by myself. It would be so nice to have family nearby where I could just drop the kids off for a little while and get some rest. I know that I am not the only Mom who goes through this, so I should complain, but being sick was so much easier before I had kids.
Now that I got that out of my system I will get on the original topic of my post. This past weekend we had Jared's Dad come to visit. We had so much fun having him here and he spoiled us and the kids. My father-in-law he is one of the best people I know. We were all really sad to see him go and we can't wait until the next time we get to visit with him!

Tori and Landon love Grandpa!

Playing Bingo with Grandpa and Grammy (via Web cam). The kids loved it!!

Landon and Grandpa built a snow man on Saturday. It was actually really warm that day, like 40 degrees, since then all the snow has melted.
Then Jared, Dad, and Landon had a snow fight. Landon kept running after them saying "Wait for me!"

New Addition...

After dealing with 3 carseats crowded in the back of our small Saturn for the last 8 months we decided it was about time we got a minivan. Now I have never been one to care about cars really at all, if it is reliable I am happy, but I was SUPER excited to get a minivan. Now I know a lot of people aren't fans of the minivan and I am cool with that, but I think they are great family vehicles.
Today we brought home our new car. We ended up getting a 2002 Chrysler Town & Country. It has power everything, a leather interior (with heated seats!), and it is really nice. It runs great and I am really happy with our. I have to give a big Thanks to Dad Peterson for flying out from Las Vegas to help us pick out a car. We honestly had no idea what to look for in buying a good used car and he was a big help!
Bucket seats in the middle row were high on my priority list. They make moving around the vehicle so much easier.
The kids were so excited to play in the new van and they played in there for a good half hour while Jared and Dad shoveled a parking spot for the new van.

Bingo Night!

Lately Landon has been very into playing games. Every night after dinner he will ask to play a game. His current favorite is Bingo. I got this cool Bingo game while I was in Vegas last Summer that makes noises and then you put your markers on the corresponding picture. It is pretty fun.
Landon pushing the button on the noise maker.
Landon putting a marker down on his game board. Also Tori's face cracks me up.
Tori concentrating on the game. I had taken her hair out for the day so it was a crazy fro.

Ella and Daddy after the game. So bald but so cute!(both of them ;) )

And for your viewing enjoyment a video of the Bingo playing action:
