Happy Easter!

I love going to church on Easter Sunday and seeing all of the kids dressed up in their new Easter clothes. Because General Conference falls on Easter this year I will have to wait until next Sunday to see all the cute Easter outfits, but that is OK . I was able to go out on Friday and take some pictures of my kids in their Easter garb. Enjoy and I hope you all have a wonderful Easter Sunday!I was not able to get a great picture of all three kids together, Tori looks a little goofy in this picture, of well

Easter Fun!

This past week has been full of fun Easter activities. On Thursday we died Easter Eggs and on Friday we had an Easter Egg hunt with our friends the Wilkins. Landon and Tori loved dying Easter eggs. They were much more into this year then they were last year. It ended up being pretty messy but the kids had fun and the dye washed right off so it was worth it. I think the Easter Egg Hunt was a success. All the kids figured out the concept of collecting eggs quickly and everyone seemed to be satisfied with what they collected. Tori was mostly interested in eating the chocolate Landon collected most of the eggs, but he was willing to share with the girls.

New Addition!!!

We are pleased to introduce you all to a new member of our family. He joined our family a couple weeks ago and he is an absolute to have around. I have to say he is probably my favorite child. He is easy going, polite, and very low maintenance. He also has some pretty cool tricks, like he can fly around the room (with the help of his brother).
So without further ado I'd like to introduce you to .....

Paper Landon!!

When Landon brought Paper Landon (PL) home from school he made sure that PL was assimilated into the family. He would save a spot for him on the couch, take him to bed with him, and play with him pretty much all day for pretty much a week straight. Sometimes I think it would be great to be 5 again!

Nesting

I was ready to write a post about all the things I hate about being pregnant when it dawned on me that no one wants to hear me complain, so instead I am going to post about one of the positive side effects of being pregnant, nesting. I was actually a bit surprised when this nesting side effect kicked in because I don't remember ever nesting in any of my previous pregnancies. I am not going to lie I really enjoy nesting, I feel much more accomplished at the end of the day because I am getting things done and I sleep better at night because I wear myself out during the day.

Here are 2 of the projects I have completed as a result of nesting. The first are wall letters to hang in the nursery. We are pretty sure that this little boys name will be Levi and if for some reason we change our minds I can always make new letters, they were super easy. You can't really tell from the pictures but the "I" has a solid brown background with darker brown polka dots. This next project was a little more involved. My friend Lillian gave us an old wardrobe they got from Ikea a while ago. I was super excited to get this wardrobe becasue we do not have a ton of storage space in our house. However the wardrobe was a light color and the furniture in the nursery is pretty dark. Not a big deal but I wanted it to match a little better so with the help of Jared I restained the wardrobe. The color isn't a perfect match to the rest of the furniture but I think it looks good. To finish off this project I made some curtains for the outside of the wardrobe.

After:Here is a close up of the fabric that I made the curtains out of. I am using these same fabrics in the baby blanket I am making for Levi.

We love to ROCK!!!

This morning Landon and Tori decided to give us an impromptu rock concert. I only got a little bit of it on camera but the kids were sure getting into it. Oh and don't act like you aren't jealous of their snow shovel guitars ;).

Out with the old in with the new...

Back when we lived in Reno one of Jared's coworkers gifted us their old sofa. The sofa was kinda ugly but it was a lazy boy sofa and it was pretty comfy so we took it. When we moved out here I discovered a big flaw with the sofa, it was a beast to move. This couch had a ton of metal parts because it reclined. I don't know how much the thing weighed but it was HEAVY. I remember unloading the moving truck and trying to lift that couch. I tried my best to help Jared move that thing but I have absolutely no upper body strength and so I failed. The image of Jared flipping the couch across our lawn and somehow moving the sofa up into our house all by himself will forever be burned into my mind. I vowed then and there that we would only move that couch one more time and it wouldn't be to a new house, it would be to Goodwill.
Now Jared really enjoyed this sofa and he was not so set on giving it up but recently I wore him down and convinced him to let me get new couches with a portion of our tax return. Yesterday we said good-bye to the beast and today our new couches arrived! I think that they look great and I am happy to have new furniture that should last us for a good while! Oh and an extra bonus, they won't be very hard to move when the time comes.

Our new couches!
