5 months old

It seems as though the first few months of a babies life they don't learn or do a whole lot. The routine is eat, sleep, cry, repeat. Then overnight they start learning and doing new things at a rapid rate. It seems as though Ella is now in this stage. In the last month she has mastered the art of rolling over (she can move all over the place), started to "play with toys (by play I mean she grabs them and sticks them in her mouth) and she has started to sit up on her own(for very short periods of time)! When I look at her now I hardly see the newborn that was lying in my arms only 5 short months ago. It has been so fun to watch her grow and start to develop into her own little person!

Blah. Little person nothing. She is cute though, which wins her a few points. Let me know when she is able to feed herself, then she can win the status of Oompah-Loompah.

ummmm I think you might be one of the first one to know that she is feeding herself Jared, especially if you end up having to clean it up, I am not sure the beginning stages of that milestone is all that fun! The pictures make for a good time though. I am sooooo sad she is growing up without us close by! We sure do love you guys!

She is so cute! Every time I see pictures of her it makes me sad that I've never actually held her!

As for Jared - this is your third kid - you know what a mess "feeding themselves" is. It's infinitely easier (and faster and cleaner) for you to just do it yourself. I never look forward to that (I'm still waiting for Noah to do it without wearing it)! But he is right - she is cute!

I think by "feeding herself" he meant holding her own bottle, we haven't even started giving her solid food yet :)

I was joking, I thought it was cute of Jared to write that. I think as a parent one of the first signs of them being a "person" per say is when they start picking choosing which food they will eat, thus the solid food stage, I suppose holding the bottle stage can show some independance too, cuz they can throw it if they like.
